The
Villas
Located in the most picturesque areas of the Estate are twenty 17th and 18th century Tuscan
farmhouses that once supported the Estate’s traditional agricultural activities.
These homes, ranging in size from 3,000 to 6,000 square feet, have been transformed
into luxurious Villas for the exclusive use of Castiglion del Bosco Members. Some are secluded in the forest,
others overlook vineyards and olive groves, a few are nestled in the Borgo and one
sits proudly next to the castle ruins, but all enchant with
stunning views of the Tuscan countryside.
While each Villa is unique, the décor for all follows a common style, paying respect to the heritage
and rich colors of the surrounding Sienese landscape. Through the careful selection of materials
and furniture, from antiques and special pieces created by local craftsmen and fabrics
made of the softest natural fibers, each Villa reflects a combination of local history
and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Villa amenities create a self-contained oasis for relaxation when not enjoying the rest of
the Estate. All Villas feature gorgeously landscaped lawns and gardens and a heated outdoor
stone pool. A pergola-covered barbeque terrace and kitchen designed by Riccardo Barthel
provide luxurious environments for Members, who may also elect to have a personal chef prepare in-villa meals.
Discreetly hidden, state-of-the-art technology, including LCD TVs, WiFi internet and
iPod stations, round out the common amenities. Additional comforts found at many of the
Villas include a pool house, guest house, tennis court, extra bedroom for in-villa
staff and an original outdoor wood-burning oven. In restoring the Estate’s Villas, great attention
has been paid to design and details to ensure Tuscan authenticity and the highest level of comfort.
